How do we love Michigan? Let’s count the ways (in photos)
You love Michigan. You really, really love Michigan. So does Bridge.
What’s not to love? From gorgeous beaches to lush forests, sparkling rivers to rolling hills, Michigan is 97,000 square miles of heart-stopping awe.
We know our readers love Michigan because, when we casually asked them to share photos of some of their favorite spots, we were deluged. Our email inboxes are still overflowing, and we thought we’d pass on a sample of the love in the photos below.
We do so as we gear up to do something different: We’re in the midst of a campaign to raise money for an Outdoors Life Reporter. Our franchise will forever remain aggressive, with fact-based coverage of public policy about everything from government and energy to education and health.
But we also realize there’s more that connects us than public policy. We love Michigan for all it has to offer.
This reporter — who will join our Environment Watch Team — will cover some of that joy, from snowshoeing and surfing Lake Superior to fly fishing and stargazing, as well as traditional environmental stories.
As we continue to raise funds for the position, let’s keep the excitement going. Send your favorite quintessentially Michigan photo to [email protected] and we will highlight some of our favorite shots during Labor Day weekend.
By sending your photo, you are giving us permission to use your photo in Bridge, with credit to you.
Meanwhile, get out there and enjoy every last drop of summer.
